The main causes of back pain are associated with such diseases:
- osteomyelitis affecting the bone marrow;
- oncological neoplasia;
- the appearance of hernias in intervertebral hernias;
- scoliosis;
- cartilage damage;
- fibromyalgia.
Very often, back pain is not associated with a change in the structure of the spine. In this case, pelvic bleeding or compression of nerve endings in the sternum can be observed. Discomfort between the shoulder blades can be associated with peptic ulcers or arthritis. Pain that radiates simultaneously to both sides is the first sign of appendicitis. Unpleasant sensations can appear after prolonged exposure to low temperatures, with repeated lifting of heavy objects, strong coughing or standing in an uncomfortable position. Back pain often occurs after bone fractures, regardless of their location.
Features of back pain treatment
In case of unbearable pain, first aid measures are given to the patients. To do this, you can put a cold compress on the problem area, take painkillers and exclude physical activity. In the process of treating back pain, chondroprotectors are actively used today. Their injectable form guarantees maximum bioavailability and speed of action of the drug, which stops the destruction of cartilage tissue and relieves inflammation. The course of treatment may include:
- warming ointment;
- drugs that eliminate tissue spasms;
- physiotherapy procedures;
- therapeutic massages;
- acupuncture.
If necessary, wearing a special corset is prescribed, which reduces the load on the lower back and spine. In some cases, surgical interventions are performed that include the placement of intervertebral prostheses.
